Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl
Welcome back! Today I am here to tell you about another reading that fascinated me, and that simply transposes you into a completely different world. To go over the introduction, what intrigued me most about the story was the action itself, which develops more and more, even if at first it had a little boring passages, the book is really very well written. The characters are very complex, given the fact that the action revolves around five, and the book is written from the perspective of a character, but also from the perspective of the narrator.
To tell you more, the story revolves around a girl named Beatrice who lives with her parents at a restaurant near the port. She had just graduated from high school, but with a trauma that left her fingerprints after her boyfriend Jim committed suicide before graduation. His death becomes the enigma of the whole story, when Beatrice decides to find out what really happened, believing that it was more than a suicide. Even when destiny appears and she is invited by her former colleagues - with whom she had not kept in touch since Jim's death - to a party at the old house on the lake. What Beatrice did not know was that fate decided a much more cruel fate than she expected when they had an accident on the highway, but escaped unharmed. Thus, not even a few hours after the accident, an elderly gentleman appears and tells them that time has stopped and they have to make a choice. I can't tell you more if you want to read the book, but all I'm telling you is that intrigues and secrets start there that won't let you leave the book in your hands.
The book is a psychological thriller, full of mystery, with complex characters and an exceptional suspense. Clearly one of the best mystery books I've ever read!
Thanks to nemira.ro for being so nice to bring it to me and get your hands on it because you won't regret it!
